OUTSTANDING
We decided to go away to Camden for Thanksgiving and booked reservations at Franny's for Thanksgiving day as they were serving off their regular menu. Both the food and service were excellent. As soon as we entered we were greeted and led to our table. Our waitress was nice, efficient, and friendly. The food was some of the best I have had eating out and we eat out often. I recommend getting the scallops and mussels over the cheddar bacon grits. So very good. My wife loved her chicken, my son devoured his steak Frites and fries (which we were all stealing!) and my daughter enjoyed her caesar salad. Then we got dessert and that too was excellent. I lived in Portland for over 15 years and have eaten at many restaurants in Maine. This may be the very best of them all.

Made dinner reservations here for date night. I'm almost reluctant to leave this review because it will reveal this "hidden gem", as some other reviewers here have called it. The girlfriend and I just ate here on a Saturday night up from Boston in late September 2020 and loved it. They were busy yet did a great dinner service. This restaurant is tucked away on a residential street a minute from the Camden strip. The atmosphere is nice and homey yet hip. The bourbon drink (don't recall the name) and gin drink off the menu were good. The crab cake appetizer, swordfish special, and Portuguese linguini special were GREAT. I can tell this place is run by professionals both FOH and BOH.
The hostess (Franny?!) and waitress also accommodated my discreet on-the-spot ad-hoc request to bring a dessert out at the end of the meal for our anniversary, so I didn't have to order it in front of my girlfriend...
